Boke Darvùr (/dar/ /vʊr/ [shed] [fine (okay)]) is a subtropical Small City located in the Aldäbn Region of the Tetburland.

The name Boke Darvùr is derived from the Sylvin language, as Boke Darvùr was founded by Albino Cave Spiders, who was culturaly Tauran.

Climate

Boke Darvùr has a yearly average temperature of 29°C (84°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 33°C (91°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 26°C (78°F). Boke Darvùr receives an average of 198 cm/y (77 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Boke Darvùr covers an area of nearly 12 km2 (4 mi2), and an average elevation of 4288 m (14068 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Boke Darvùr was founded durring the early 10th century, by Albino Cave Spiders. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Boke Darvùr was built using the conventions of Tauran durring the early 10th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Boke Darvùr is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Boke Darvùr is buildings have been located at convienant points along the swamp Boke Darvùr was built upon. Navigating the town is therefore a little chalanging as the distance between buildings verris greatly and the premissive packed earth streets flow where they are able to be made rather than folowing the most convienant paths. The city rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. The city's millitarily questionable fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the city's defences.

A look around Boke Darvùr has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine which makes you worry someone might stab you in a dark ally for your boots. It’s not filthy, or dark, but the smiles seem strained, the locals seem to glare daggers in eachothers backs a little too much, and everyone is armed at all times. You may want to keep an eye on your valuables, and make sure you don’t wind up in any position of power. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Boke Darvùr long.

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Boke Darvùr's natural decorations nor waterways.

Boke Darvùr has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Boke Darvùr has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Boke Darvùr has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

A substantial minority of the locals are descended from foreigners alien to their local neighbors. They may have been religious exiles, economic migrants, indigenous locals surrounded by the existing polity, or a foreign settlement conquered within the relatively recent past. The locals may not be enthusiastic about being ruled by others not of their kind, and their neighbors may look askance at the way foreign customs or even laws may be maintained.

Boke Darvùr's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is inspired by the natural world, characterized by sinuous, sculptural, organic shapes, arches, curving lines, and sensual ornamentation. Common motifs included stylized versions of leaves, flowers, vines, insects, animals, and other natural elements. Decorative elements found on the inside and outside of buildings include intricate mosaic work, curved windows, and decorative trim work. .

In Boke Darvùr there are unidentifiable people in the fog, but it seems to be okay.

The Ice Elemental, Large near Boke Darvùr are known to be quite timid.

Boke Darvùr's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves destroying a prepared ritual vessel to channel Wild Magic energies of tier 1 via mimery.
